It’s Party Time at the Aqua Dome! The Aqua Dome is celebrating 25 years of business this week on the 14th of May 2019 and Centre Manager Mags O’Sullivan says that management and staff are very proud and delighted to reach this important milestone. Since opening its doors 25 years ago, over 4 million happy customers have passed through the attraction and lots of happy experiences and wonderful memories have been created.
Mags O’Sullivan Centre Manager would like to thank all the staff, customers, members, contractors, shareholders and suppliers who have supported the Aqua Dome over the years and she credits the vision and dedication of the board of directors as playing an important role in it’s enormous success.
The main reason the Aqua Dome was built was to provide a state-of-the-art facility which would attract customers from every walk of life and bring business to Tralee. In this regard it has been a huge success with visitors coming from all over Ireland and all around the world. The Aqua Dome has been and continues to be an important resource for the town of Tralee contributing millions to the local economy. It also plays a significant role in putting Tralee and Kerry on the map.
The Aqua Dome is the place to be for fun, fitness and total body relaxation all under a magnificent glass dome. Whether you want to swim laps around the lazy river, surf the waves, get fit in the gym or simply relax in the adult only Vitality Spa it all going on for you to enjoy!
Time spent in the Vitality Spa can be a space to pamper yourself in much needed “me” time, to chill out, relax, recharge, reflect, detox and re-energise. Here you can enjoy all the benefits of varying degrees of heat therapy alternating with a refreshing dip in the invigorating cool pool. Heated seats and heated loungers are also available for total body relaxation and piped music and ambient lighting all enhance the total body relaxation experience.
Alongside the Aqua Dome there is an Aqua Golf which consists of an exciting 18 hole miniature golf course which is great fun for all the family and can be enjoyed by young and old alike.
This year saw the Aqua Dome embarking on an environmental journey and management and staff are currently striving to make positive environmental changes to reduce their carbon footprint and mitigate the adverse effects of climate change. - Learn to swim in the tropical surroundings of the Aqua Dome pool and lazy river. Private swimming lessons are provided by fully qualified swim teachers under the watchful eye of our pool lifeguards.
- Wayne Quillinan provides personal training and gives one- on-one instruction in all aspects of fitness & nutrition in our gym and weights room.
- Massage, wellness treatments and sports injury management are provided by our masseuse Natalie Thornton and her staff and these treatments combined with a visit to the adult only Vitality Spa offer a holistic total body experience.
- McHale Catering have leased the café and are offering a variety of tasty food options to suit everyone’s taste and budget.
Management also works closely with other tourism providers and businesses in Tralee to promote the town together. “Tralee is the capital town of Kerry, which is one of the biggest tourist destinations in the county,” says Mags O’Sullivan. “There’s a genuine welcome in the town for tourists and we want to get that message out there. There is so much to see and do here in Tralee and we want to share it with everyone.”
