Great news everyone! The Aqua Dome will reopen its doors to customers on March 15th and we look forward to welcoming all our customers and members back!
After two years of closure due to Covid, the facility will bring a much needed boost to the tourism industry in Tralee by reopening once again. CEO of the Aqua Dome, Kieran Ruttledge said “We are delighted to be reopening once again. We are very aware of the importance of the Aqua Dome as it brings so much business to the town and we know many people visit the area primarily because of the Aqua Dome. We are a fantastic venue for all ages with the leisure pool with its fantastic features like waves, slides and rapids is a big attraction for children and the Vitality Spa a huge draw for the adults. We hope it will be business as normal for the years ahead and we look forward to welcoming our staff and regular customers back”.
During the closure the Aqua Dome retained a core staff who have been keeping the place in excellent condition, but plans for a new major attraction at the site had to be shelved because the funds were needed to offset losses caused by closure. Of particular concern to the management of the facility are the increases in energy costs as the Aqua Dome is a high user of both gas and electric. Insurance has always been another high cost for the Aqua Dome and the management have said that there are no signs of this reducing despite reforms promised.
The Aqua Dome is reopening in time for St Patrick’s weekend and are looking forward to a busy season. “Hopefully our customers will return in the same numbers as they have in the past, we know July and August will be busy but customers get a better experience outside these months when the facility is quieter, and of course it is worth noting that there is no time limit on your stay in the Aqua Dome” said Kieran Ruttledge.
We would like to thank our customers and members for all their support over the years and we hope to bring smiles, happiness and good health to you all once reopened.
Bring it on!
