The schoolbags are packed, the uniforms are ironed and the kids are back into the swing of a new term. Just because the summer’s over doesn’t mean the fun has to stop. As the evenings draw in and the routine sets back in, the Aqua Dome in Tralee is exactly where you need to be this autumn, whether you’re looking to treat the kids after a long week at school, plan a weekend outing for the whole family or finally carve out a bit of well-earned “you time.” Open daily from 10am (until 10pm Monday to Friday and 7pm at weekends), there’s no need to book ahead, so however your week is shaping up, we’re ready when you are.
Autumn is the Perfect Time to Visit
There’s something about the Aqua Dome that makes it feel like the ideal antidote to autumn. As the temperature drops outside and the days get shorter, our indoor tropical-styled water world stays exactly the same, warm, bright and buzzing with energy, whatever the weather is doing outside. No need to check the forecast or pack extra layers, just walk through our doors and step into a different season entirely.
Midweek Treats After the School Run
Back-to-school season comes with a lot of new routine and by midweek most families are ready for a change of pace. A trip to the Aqua Dome after school is the perfect way to burn off the day’s energy and reward the kids for settling back into the term. The wave pool, lazy river, rapids and high-flume slides give children plenty to get excited about, while the splash zone and kiddies’ slides are ideal for the younger ones who just want to paddle and play. It’s a brilliant way to turn a Tuesday evening into something a little more special, no homework required.
Weekend Family Fun
Weekends are made for making the most of your time together and the Aqua Dome has plenty to keep everyone entertained. Take on the rapids as a family, challenge each other on the high-flume slide, or simply drift the lazy river and let the week melt away. And with the newly refurbished Aqua Golf right next door, you can extend the fun outdoors too. No golfing skills required, just bring the family, friends or the whole gang and enjoy a bit of friendly competition across 18 beautifully redesigned holes.
Grown-Up Escapes: A Little You Time
Autumn isn’t just about the kids getting back into routine, it’s the perfect excuse for the adults to reclaim some downtime too. Our Vitality Spa, open exclusively to guests aged 18 and over, is a genuine escape from the busyness of the week. Unwind in the Himalayan salt steam room, warm up in the traditional or tropical saunas, stretch out on a heated lounger, or take a bracing dip in the cool plunge pool, all set against soft lighting and calming music. It’s the kind of quiet reset that’s easy to put off but always worth making time for.
If it’s a workout rather than relaxation you’re after, our members-only gym is equipped with over 20 top-range cardio and strength machines, giving you everything you need to keep your fitness routine on track as the seasons change.
Bring the Friends, Not Just the Family
Autumn visits don’t have to be just for parents and kids. Gather a group of friends for an evening in the pools followed by a catch-up in the café or head straight for the Aqua Golf course for some light-hearted competition. Whether it’s a birthday get-together, a girls’ or lads’ day out, or simply an excuse to see each other before the year gets busy, the Aqua Dome & Aqua Golf makes for a brilliant social outing that doesn’t revolve around the usual pub or restaurant.
Comfort Made Easy
We know a smooth visit matters just as much as a fun one, which is why our changing area is fully equipped with 54 private cubicles, 4 family changing rooms, 8 private showers and 6 communal showers, along with accessible toilets and lockers throughout. Just remember to bring a €1 coin for your locker or pick up armbands and towels on site if you need them.
