The new term is settled, the evenings are drawing in and somewhere between work, school runs and everything else, your own wellbeing tends to slip to the bottom of the list. Tucked inside the Aqua Dome is a calm, restorative side that many visitors don’t discover until their second or third visit: the Vitality Spa and the gym. Whether you want to sweat it out, switch off completely or do a bit of both, it’s all under one roof in Tralee.
The Vitality Spa: Your Adults-Only Retreat
For guests aged 18 and over, the Vitality Spa is a world away from the splashes and shrieks of the main pool. It’s built around a blend of heat experiences designed to help you unwind from head to toe:
- A Himalayan salt-infused steam room
- Traditional and tropical saunas
- A classic steam room
- Heated seats and heated loungers
The idea is simple: move between the warmth and a dip in the cool plunge pool. The contrast leaves the body invigorated and the mind quiet. The saunas and steam rooms are infused with aromatherapy extracts, and the customised ambient lighting and gentle meditation music make it easy to forget about your to-do list for a while.
Best of all, entry is included in the adult admission price with unlimited time. There’s no clock ticking over your shoulder, so you can take things at your own pace.
The Gym: For Every Level of Fitness
If movement is how you recharge, the Aqua Dome gym welcomes everyone from complete beginners to elite athletes. You’ll find over 20 pieces of top-of-the-range fitness equipment, alongside quality weight equipment and a free weights room, so whether you’re easing back into a routine or training with purpose, the space has you covered.
The gym is for members only, and that’s where membership really starts to make sense. General memberships include unlimited use of every facility at no extra cost, including the gym, the Vitality Spa and the pools. They’re available as 1, 3, 6, 9 or 12-month options for individuals and families. For example, a monthly adult membership is €130 and an annual adult membership is €550, with reduced rates for seniors (60+) and students. If you’d prefer flexibility, Pay As You Go memberships are valid for 6 or 12 months, with a joining fee and then €7 per adult admission. The Perfect Aqua Dome Wellness Day
Here’s how a full reset could look:
- Start with a workout in the gym to get the blood flowing.
- Head to the Vitality Spa and work through the Himalayan salt steam room and saunas, cooling off in the plunge pool between rounds.
- Ease into a whirlpool spa. Our whirlpool spas let the water jets work away your aches and pains, with one overlooking the main pool and another in the castle with a view of the rapids and bubble seat.
- Refuel at the poolside café. Toasties, home baking, teas and coffees are on the menu, and the café is open at weekends and school holidays during the off-peak season.
Bring the Family, Take Your Time
One of the best things about wellness at the Aqua Dome is that it doesn’t have to be a solo mission. Mum and Dad can take turns in the Vitality Spa while the kids enjoy the wave pool, lazy river and slides, then everyone can come together afterwards. We’re open 10am to 10pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 7pm on Saturdays and Sundays, with no need to pre-book and no time limit on your stay. Remember to bring a €1 coin for your locker, and note that armbands and towels are available on site.
